The cottage was built in the late 1800s and completely renovated in the 1980s. It is still owned by the same family having been handed down through the generations.

The cottage is situated at the northern end of the island with spectacular views of Laig Bay and the Isle of Rum with Barra occasionally visible in the distance. The cottage is between Laig Bay and the famous Singing Sands which are a MUST SEE/HEAR experience and has great views of the well-known Sgurr of Eigg, the striking near vertical volcanic plug that is a feature of the island.

A wide variety of wildlife surrounds the cottage including rabbits, pheasants and birds of prey including Eagles.

At the southern end of the island is the Massacre Cave below the Sgurr and at the waterside, just up from the Pier is the Shop and Tearoom. Experience the Craic with the locals here.
